To all walkers and runners, mark Sunday, March 24, 2013 in your calendars. The 119th Annual Around the Bay Road Race in support of St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton awaits you!
Hamilton's Bay Race is the oldest race of its kind on the continent with the first run held in 1894 - three years before the Boston Marathon. Rich in tradition, the race has been won by the best from around the world, including Boston Marathon winners and Olympic gold medalists.
The Bay Race, since 2005, is a signature fundraising event for St. Joseph's. More than 11,500 runners/walkers participated in the Around the Bay Road Race on March 25, 2012 - the largest number of runners in the race's 118-year history. Many of these participants went the extra mile for St. Joseph's Healthcare Foundation by raising more than $260,000 in pledges to improve care for our hospital's patients.
In 2013, become part of the continuing tradition by walking or running this unique course around Hamilton's natural harbour while supporting St. Joseph's! Each dollar raised enables the Hospital to purchase the most innovative equipment, enhance patient care, and fund critical medical research.
