Hamilton Resident & St. Joe’s Occupational Therapy Worker Pam W. is the winner of $52,035 in the Hope Springs 50/50 Lottery

June 4, 2021 – Hamilton, Ontario – “I don’t believe it!” These were the first words Pam said when she received a phone call just before noon today to let her know that she is the grand prize winner of St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation’s HOPE SPRINGS 50/50 Lottery. Pam is taking home $52,035 in cash after purchasing $40 worth of tickets on the very last day of the draw.

“Even when I was buying my tickets yesterday, I thought, I’ll never win, but it’s a nice way to support St. Joe’s,” said Pam. Not only is Pam a resident of Hamilton, but she has worked at the Hospital for just over 20 years, currently in Occupational Therapy. When asked what she might do with her winnings, Pam said, “I’m going to pay off some bills, and support a couple of charities that are close to my heart.”

While Pam takes home half of the jackpot, the remaining $52,035 will be donated back to St. Joe’s to help with the hospital’s highest priority needs. “Lotteries are such a fun way to engage our community in supporting St. Joe’s while also giving them the chance to win a fantastic prize. And Pam isn’t the only one who wins. The lives of countless patients we serve will also be enhanced by these funds,” says Sera Filice-Armenio, President & CEO, St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation.

The Hope Springs 50/50 Lottery was operated by St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation under the lottery license #RAF1204741 issued by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario. The winning ticket (#A-2530456) was drawn using an automated, randomized number generation system on June 4, 2021. The draw included all verified online ticket purchases made from May 3 at 12:01 a.m. – June 3, 2021 at 11:59 p.m.
