Appointment Notice: Dan Marlatt, CPA, CGA, Vice President, Finance & Administration

Dan is a seasoned leader and professional with more than 15 years of experience in the private, corporate and not for profit sectors. In addition to his CPA, CGA designation from the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario, Dan holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Nipissing University and a Human Resources Management Certificate from the Human Resources Professionals Association of Ontario.

Dan spent over a decade working in the private sector, holding various financial positions in corporate accounting, but it was when he joined the charitable sector that Dan found his true passion. Since 2016, Dan has held the position of Controller at the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides where he served as a member of the Senior Leadership team and oversaw the finance, accounting, human resources, information technology and facilities management functions.

In his new role, Dan will lead the finance and operations of both St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation, Hamilton and its sister organization, St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation, Guelph. Supporting the CEO, the Boards, and the Finance and Investment Committees of the Boards, Dan will help ensure our Foundations continue their long legacy of being thoughtful and careful stewards of the donations we receive to support the life saving work of our Hospital and Care Centres. Dan is also familiar with the rigorous reporting standards our Foundations adhere to as accredited members of the Imagine Canada Standards Program. Under the administration portfolio of his new role, Dan will also oversee the donor services, database, annual giving, IT and human resources functions.

On a more personal note, Dan is passionate about giving back to his community and has volunteered his time and expertise with Habitat for Humanity Halton, the Carpenter Hospice, and held the role of Treasurer with the Halton K9 Lions Club. He lives in Waterdown with his wife and two young children. We look forward to welcoming Dan to our Foundation teams in both Hamilton and Guelph on November 29, 2021.
