March 20, 2020
The news is out: The Around the Bay Road Race is returning this Fall! Initially scheduled to take place on March 29, the iconic run has been postponed to support social distancing and protect the health of our community amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
But in 126 years, the bay race has only been cancelled a handful of times, and the ATB race organizers are hoping to keep it that way. We’re pleased to partner with the Bay Race to announce that it is now scheduled to take place on Sunday, November 22, 2020.
As an individual or a corporate or hospital fundraising team who has registered to take part in the 2020 Around the Bay Road Race in support of St. Joe’s, the Around the Bay has offered three options for your consideration:
- You/your team can use your registration to take part in the 2020 Bay Race on November 22, giving you a temperate summer to train in and plenty of time to reach your fundraising goal.
- Alternatively, if you’re more of a spring-time runner, you can choose not to participate in the November 22, 2020 race, and defer your registration until the March 28, 2021 race date.
- Should you not be able to participate in either the November 22, 2020 event, nor the March 28, 2021 date, you have the option to receive your 2020 race shirt and finishing medal by mail.
We realize you may wish to take some time to consider which option is best for you, so our St. Joe’s Foundation staff will be reaching out to individuals and team captains in the coming days and weeks to help with the registration and deferral process. While our team is working remotely right now, we are always just a phone call or an email away.
Regardless of which option you choose, we hope you will remain committed to walking, running and raising funds for St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation. During these unprecedented times, our Hospital needs the support of our community more than ever.
Sincerely,
The St. Joe’s Foundation Team
