It won’t be long before many of your Hospital colleagues are lacing up their running shoes to walk, run and raise funds for St. Joe’s in the Around the Bay Road Race! Sunday, March 29 will mark the 16th year this iconic Hamilton event has supported our Hospital. This year, we’re aiming to raise $475,000 through the race, and you can be a part of it.
Most of the funds raised through the Bay Race will be used to help St. Joe’s rebuild our Psychiatric Emergency Service at the Charlton campus. The square-footage and the number of patient care and consultation rooms will double, but best of all, the look, feel and design of the space will soon match the exceptional level of care provided by the compassionate and talented team at St. Joe’s.
Together, we can make sure that our Hospital has the space we need to care for every person who comes to our door, no matter what mental health crisis they may be facing. Learn more about the urgent need for this project in these recent stories from CBC and The Hamilton Spectator.
As always, Hospital fundraising teams who raise $10,000 or more have the opportunity to designate their funds to an approved research project in their own department. So, there’s lots of ways that funds raised through the Bay Race can make a difference at our Hospital.
Want to be a part of the Bay Race? Consider joining one of these teams, or enter your own! Not fond of walking or running in the chilly March air? Why not sponsor your favourite colleague? Click on any of the registered teams below to see who’s running and support their efforts.
