Tony DeLuca is fundraising for St. Joe’s through the Around the Bay Road Race because St. Joe’s saves lives – including his wife’s.
It was only three months after Rita DeLuca gave birth to her and Tony’s third child when she fell critically ill. With three young children at home, the only thing that mattered to Tony’s family was getting her well.
Rita’s gallbladder ruptured and she went into septic shock. Thanks to the exceptional care provided by St. Joe’s surgeons and the staff in the Intensive Care and Medical Step Down Units, Rita’s life was saved.
“You never know when a family member is going to need life-saving care. Truthfully, you never know when you are going to need life-saving care either. But I know from first-hand experience that there are really no words to describe how grateful my family is to St. Joe’s for saving Rita’s life,” shared Tony.
This spring Tony is fundraising for St. Joe’s through the Around the Bay Road Race to say thanks and to help ensure our Hospital is there for all of us – whenever we need it.
Help us ensure that our Hospital continues to invest in ground-breaking research, is equipped with life-saving technology and has state of the art facilities by fundraising in support of St. Joe’s this spring.
Walk, run or ride the Around the Bay Road Race, Paris to Ancaster: A Ride for Research, or Shoppers LOVE. YOU. Run for Women. Visit stjoesfoundation.ca/events to register and donate today – because St. Joe’s saves lives.
