Saverina Scozzari is hosting her third annual fundraiser on Sunday, September 27 at the Carmens Event Centre featuring DJ Danny D and Tony Monaco from Z103.5 FM. Event proceeds will support the Kidney Transplant Clinic at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, the Hospital where Saverina received her life-saving kidney transplant in January 2023.

Saverina’s hope is to raise vital funds and awareness to help provide additional mental health supports for transplant recipients. In addition to the financial stresses associated with medication costs, side effects from anti-rejection medications, complications from surgery, and grieving their old lives, it's common for transplant patients to experience PTSD, anxiety, depression and even thoughts of suicide post-procedure. Her goal is to improve existing resources and mental health supports for transplant patients to create a holistic recovery plan.
