We Invite You to Say Thanks to Your Miracle Worker at St. Joe’s!
Did you know that well over 80% of donations received by St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation are from grateful patients, or the friends and family of grateful patients? Often, these gifts are our donors’ special way of saying “thank you” for the exemplary care that they or their loved one received during their stay at St. Joe’s. A new initiative launched by St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation will now allow donors to go an extra step and “say thanks to a miracle worker at St. Joe’s” by making a gift in honour of a specific caregiver.
“We often hear from grateful patients who wonder how they can say thank you to special teams or individuals – their “miracle workers” as they’re sometimes referred to – who provided such competent and compassionate care during their time of need,” says St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation President & CEO, Sera Filice-Armenio. “Our new Grateful Patient Program is designed to allow them to do exactly that!”
Attractive posters are being placed in public areas and waiting rooms throughout St. Joe’s three campuses. Each one has been specially designed to feature actual Hospital staff members so that patients may recognize their doctor, nurse or care provider on a poster while waiting for an appointment, grabbing a coffee in the lobby, or standing on an elevator.
The matching brochure invites grateful patients to make a gift to the Hospital, but also encourages them to send a personal note to a care provider or care team who went above and beyond during their St. Joe’s experience. Each care provider who is honoured through the program will receive a special wing-shaped pin that acknowledges their status as a “St. Joe’s Miracle Worker.”
“The grateful patient program isn’t just another way to support our Hospital. It’s a wonderful and inspiring way to let staff know that the work they do everyday is noticed and appreciated by the patients we’re so honoured to serve,” concludes Sera Filice-Armenio.
