March 16, 2020
To all of our participants, fundraisers and teams who were planning to take part in the Around the Bay Road Race or Paris to Ancaster: A Ride for Research:
While our Foundation is honoured to be the charity partner of these two iconic springtime events, in light of the COVID-19 global pandemic, the events scheduled to take place on March 29 and April 26 respectively, have been cancelled or postponed until further notice in an effort to protect the health of our community. We must all be diligent in doing our part to control the spread of COVID-19, and our foundation is wholeheartedly supportive of these decisions.
If we may offer a message of hope, it’s that our region is so fortunate to have access to world-leading healthcare from organizations like St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton. Together, we will get through this—as a community and as a country.
During this time of increased pressure upon our healthcare system, we are immensely grateful to our fundraising teams that have already expressed their intention to continue raising funds for St. Joe’s. We are both humbled and inspired by their unwavering commitment. We welcome the opportunity to continue to work with you for the health of our community and we are just a phone call or an email away.
While our Foundation plans to remain operational during this time, we are taking measures to protect the health of our employees by encouraging them to work remotely from March 17 – April 3. We ask for your patience and understanding as tax receipts and correspondence may be slightly delayed.
Thank you for your continued support of St. Joe’s.
In the meantime, please stay safe, stay healthy, and let’s look after one another.
