Meet St. Joe’s New VP of Research: Dr. Lehana Thabane
Meet Dr. Lehana Thabane, Vice President of Research at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton and Scientific Director of The Research Institute of St. Joe’s Hamilton! Dr. Thabane is an academic leader and researcher who has more than 20 years of experience pioneering health research and clinical trials methodology that have greatly contributed to the medical field in Canada, and around the world.
“We are so grateful for the people who choose to donate to research at St. Joe’s because it’s an investment in making sure that other patients in the future may have access to the latest treatments and newest medications through clinical trials, and perhaps a chance at a better outcome, too.” said Dr. Thabane.
In his dual role at St. Joe’s, Dr. Thabane guides a team of more than 770 researchers who are at work every day helping to unravel the mysteries of illnesses, such as COVID-19, while inspiring scientific innovation in five key areas of health research to advance the quality of care our Hospital provides to our patients.
