New Chief of Surgery is Pedaling Research Forward in Paris to Ancaster
Paris to Ancaster: A Ride for Research (P2A) is fast-approaching on April 30, and we’re thrilled to announce St. Joe’s newly appointed Chief of Surgery, Dr. Bobby Shayegan, will be doing is part to pedal research innovation forward by riding in the 20km course and raising funds for the Hospital’s Research Institute.
Dr. Shayegan isn’t just a surgeon, he’s also a researcher and part of a leading team at the Hospital that’s transforming the way procedures are performed in Hamilton, and globally, through innovative robotic surgery research. Studies underway are looking at how robotics can help patients to heal faster, spend less time in Hospital, and be more cost-effective for the healthcare system, too! That’s the power of healthcare research that’s happening right now at St. Joe’s.
Help Dr. Shayegan cross the fundraising finish line by making a donation to Team Shayegan as he tackles the 20k race route and strives to raise funds to support robotic surgery research at St. Joe’s.
Online registration is now closed, but St. Joe’s can still get you in! To ride alongside Dr. Shayegan in the P2A 20k Family Ride, contact mark@stjoesfoundation.ca to get registered. Participants of all ages and abilities will enjoy this achievable course that travels along bike paths, rail trails, and paved and unpaved roads (suitable for most bikes). Gear up to join us for a fun-filled day of cycling all while supporting St. Joe’s.
