November is Make A Will Month
Did you know 57 per cent of Canadians do not have a valid or up-to-date Will?
Wills are more than a legal document to distribute your personal assets. They are also a powerful tool to take care of your loved ones while making a positive impact on causes that are important to you. Leaving a small portion of your estate to charity could result in a meaningful contribution, while still supporting those you love.
How Can I Include St. Joe’s in My Will?
The next time you update your Will, ask your lawyer to include either a specific amount or a percentage of the residue of your estate (that’s the amount that is left after your loved ones have been taken care of and your taxes are paid) to St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation, Hamilton.
For more information on how to direct your gift to a specific Hospital program or department that is important to you, contact Lisa Gonnering, Manager, Estate & Gift Planning, by calling 905-522-1155 ext. 35978 or by emailing lisa@stjoesfoundation.ca.
Our Thanks to St. Joe’s Staff: A Free Will Offer
As a thank you to St. Joe’s staff ages 50 and above, we would like to offer the opportunity to have a basic Will written or updated at no cost through the Canadian Free Will Network with a local, legal professional. If you are interested in the Free Will offer, please contact Lisa by email or phone as there are a limited number of free Wills available and this offer is on a first-come, first-served basis.
For more information on how you, too, can support St. Joe’s through your Will, visit: stjoesfoundation.ca/legacy.
