Our Grand Prize Winner is Floating Away with Nearly $23K!
On June 29 at noon, ticket number A-1980212 was drawn as the GRAND PRIZE WINNER in St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation’s June Jackpot 50/50 Lottery. Congratulations to Hussain A. who is starting his long weekend with a cool $22,970!
A Non-Registered Nephrology Technician in the Dialysis Unit at our Charlton Campus, Hussain started working at St. Joe’s just a little over a year ago, and this was his first time purchasing a ticket in one of our community lotteries.
“I’m speechless!” Hussain responds in surprise. “A friend at work recommended I purchase tickets, explaining that half of the funds raised come back to support our Hospital. When I heard that, there was no question about it, I knew I had to play,” he adds.
“This money couldn’t have come at a better time! I will use the winnings to pay off some bills and help my younger brother to pay off his tuition fee this semester. I also promised my aunt that if I ever won the lottery I would donate a small portion to her charity back home in Iraq,” he says.
The funds raised through June Jackpot will help to renew our 11 Birthing Rooms and expand the Special Care Nursery. New features will include enhanced infection control materials, dimmable lighting, and décor elements that are inspired by nature. The new Birthing Rooms will help parents to deliver their baby in the way that feels most comfortable for them. While the expanded Special Care Nursery will help us to care for more babies who need a little extra love and medical attention.
Warm congratulations also goes out to our three early bird prize winners, who each took home $500 cash in the lead up to the final grand prize draw yesterday.
