St. Joe’s Foundation Re-Accredited Under Imagine Canada Standards
St. Joe’s Foundation Hamilton is excited to announce that we have been re-accredited under Imagine Canada’s Standards Program. We first received accreditation in 2013 and 10 years later, we’re still committed to meeting 73 rigorous standards spanning areas such as fiscal management, transparency and accountability, fundraising practices, board governance, human resources, and volunteer involvement.
“Our Foundation was among Canada’s earliest adopters of the Imagine Canada standards program, and it remains as relevant today as it was in 2013. Being a part of a strong, trustworthy charitable sector through a set of shared best practices gives our supporters the confidence to know that their gifts will be used wisely, in the manner they intended, to support hope, healing and discovery at our Hospital,” says Sera Filice, President & CEO, St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation.
Imagine Canada‘s Standards are designed to elevate organizational excellence and transparency within charities and nonprofits. The goal is to foster resilience and bolster public confidence in both individual organizations and the charitable sector as a whole. There are approximately 86,000 registered charities in Canada. To date, 280 have been accredited through this program and St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation is proud to be one of them.
“On the journey toward great governance, organizations pursue accreditation as a public testament to their commitment to the highest standards of transparency and accountability. We offer our sincere congratulations to the newly accredited and re-accredited organizations, key players in our Standards community of close to 280 organizations nationwide,” said Bruce MacDonald, President and CEO of Imagine Canada. “By achieving accreditation, these organizations have solidified themselves as leaders in integrity, efficiency, and transparency in the nonprofit sector.”
