Thank YOU for Making This Year’s Run for Women our Most Successful to Date!
This past Sunday saw the completion of the Run for Women, brought to you by the LOVE YOU program at Shoppers Drug Mart. Runners from across Canada showed their support for women’s mental health, including right here in Hamilton, where our unstoppable community of fundraisers raised some help for women’s mental health programs at St. Joe’s. St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation would like to give thanks to everyone who ran or walked in support of this great cause and helped us set a new fundraising record of $110,721.75! Since becoming a beneficiary of the Run for Women in 2018, over $350,000 has been raised towards women’s mental health programs at our Hospital!
Participation in this year’s event was incredible, with 837 individual registrants and 83 teams taking part in the run. Of these, there were 27 teams from St. Joe’s, all of which had their own reasons and motivations for running. We are also grateful for the incredibly strong show of support from Shoppers Drug Mart store teams from across our region! Thank you to Shoppers Drug Mart and the LOVE YOU program for championing this amazing event, and to our dedicated St. Joe’s colleagues who always go above and beyond to support us.
We’d like to thank everyone who shared their photos and videos with us and tagged us on social media; it was wonderful to take part in the experiences of so many participants. This was truly a team-effort.
Special thanks to our community champion, Christine Yanke, who did a wonderful job highlighting the need for support of some of the programs that the Run for Women supports, such as the Womankind Addiction Service.
Thank you again to everyone for making this the most successful Run for Women to date, and we look forward to seeing you again in 2022!
